kuhli loach
Common Name - Kuhli loach, coolie loach, or leopard eel
Scientific Name - Pangio Kuhlii
Origin - Indonesia
Maximum - Size 3 To 4.5 inches
gender determination - females are noticeably fatter than males when full of eggs
diet - will accept most foods, like frozen blood worms, algae wafers, crushed flakes, brine shrimp, sinking pellets, and meaty foods
temperature - 72 to 82
compatibility - kuhlis are very accepting fish and show no aggression towards other fish In My Experience, these fish do well with other small fish that have similar requirements regarding water conditions. like neon tetras, bettas, guppies, etc. I would not recommend kuhlis with nippy fish like tiger barbs tough, as the kuhlis will get terrorized and will most likely die from the stress
water conditions - pH: 6.2-6.8. Hardness: Medium Soft to Medium.
breeding - it has been bred successfully in the home aquarium
group recommendations - this fish should be in groups of 5 at the least as they are very sociable
notes
this fish is most active when in larger groups, and love more company so the more you have, the more youll enjoy this fish as they are much more personality filled when in groups.
i would not recommended kuhlis for a newly setup aquarium, as even though they are fairly hardy, they are quite delicate in newly setup tanks, and are prone to diseases, when kept in newly setup tanks.
kuhlis love getting themselves into awkward places, and dont be surprised if you find them under the sand or in the filter intakes
kuhlis, are bottom dwellers and if you are considering getting them then you should have sand as they love to burrow,
