kuhli loach
Loach care sheets 413b165b

Common Name - Kuhli loach, coolie loach, or leopard eel

Scientific Name - Pangio Kuhlii

Origin - Indonesia

Maximum - Size 3 To 4.5 inches

gender determination - females are noticeably fatter than males when full of eggs

diet - will accept most foods, like frozen blood worms, algae wafers, crushed flakes, brine shrimp, sinking pellets, and meaty foods

temperature - 72 to 82

compatibility - kuhlis are very accepting fish and show no aggression towards other fish In My Experience, these fish do well with other small fish that have similar requirements regarding water conditions. like neon tetras, bettas, guppies, etc. I would not recommend kuhlis with nippy fish like tiger barbs tough, as the kuhlis will get terrorized and will most likely die from the stress

water conditions - pH: 6.2-6.8. Hardness: Medium Soft to Medium.

breeding - it has been bred successfully in the home aquarium

group recommendations - this fish should be in groups of 5 at the least as they are very sociable

notes
this fish is most active when in larger groups, and love more company so the more you have, the more youll enjoy this fish as they are much more personality filled when in groups.
i would not recommended kuhlis for a newly setup aquarium, as even though they are fairly hardy, they are quite delicate in newly setup tanks, and are prone to diseases, when kept in newly setup tanks.
kuhlis love getting themselves into awkward places, and dont be surprised if you find them under the sand or in the filter intakes
kuhlis, are bottom dwellers and if you are considering getting them then you should have sand as they love to burrow,

Subject: Clown Loach Care Sheet

Clown Loaches:
Family: Botia
Size: 12 Inches Normally (Can get up to 16 inches)
Fish Origin: South-East Asia
Water: Prefer a pH of 6.0-6.5 but can adapt to a wide range of water conditions
Temp: 25-30 C
Feeding:: Will feed on general flakes, loves catfish pellets, algae waffers, will eat most live foods.
Sexing: Very hard to tell, as adults the female will appear rounder.
Breeding: Never been done in home aquaria
Aquarium size: These fish can be kept in tanks no smaller than a 4ft as juveniles, as adults they need a minimum of 5ft.

Clown Loaches are one of the most popular freshwater fish, they are very playful and interesting to watch.
Clowns like to have loads of rocks and caves to hide and play in, they prefer sand substrate and they like to sift through the substrate looking for food.
This fish will uproot plants, so make sure their potted or you have tough plants.
These fish will play dead at times and also rest on its side.
They are shoaling fish and should be in groups of 6+, they are very social and do well with other tankmates.
They do best in soft, slightly acidic water.
Make sure there is no sharp decor in your tank as they will scratch easily.
This fish is prone to white spot and needs top water conditions, so weekly water changes will be needed.
They are also scaless so DO NOT PUT AQUARIUM SALT IN THEIR TANK and when using medications, make sure its not extra strength.

Overall a very good fish that is interesting and colorful and full of character!
If you have a *large* community tank, I highly recommend these!
